yknow people make fun of ghibli tears… but I think they aren’t made to portray what they look like on others, but instead how they feel like to us, when WE cry. Doesn’t it always feel much bigger/vision impeding when it happens to us as we experience it?
I’ve been trying to put this into words for ages, thank u
A Fancy rat is a domesticated version of the Brown rat. It is named a ‘fancy’ rat because the name derives from the idea of ‘animal fancy’ - to like or appreciate. They are bred with different shapes and psychology to wild rats, posing no more a health risk then any other domesticated pet.
Fancy rats are trainable and with the right technique you can train them to both do tricks and use a litter or toilet box.
There are a few variations of fancy rat, including the Manx, Dumbo and hairless rat.
Fancy rats - like all rats - do best with a companion and a big, open cage with plenty to do and chew on. They can eat many foods, though there are a few ‘no-no’ foods that should be looked up before considering getting pet rats.

A professor talks about the issue of racism in Japan
ETA: the person who made this video is being pressured to censor it and take it down from youtube, but he feels that it is very important that people know about it (see the second video he made about it for more info), so please signal boost this or repost it or either way share the video around before it gets silenced!
Living in Japan, I have seen A LOT of racism and discrimination. The problem is, the people don’t recognize it as racism/discrimination.
To the Japanese, they believe racism and discrimination is the Black vs White, the Holocaust and Hitler, big violence towards a colored group, the stuff on the news. They don’t understand that the little things they say like how “they’re dumb/annoying/loud/violent because they come from that one place” is a form of racism. It’s rooted into people so deep that they don’t even think much about it.
It might be due to the history or culture this country has, but from what I’ve been seeing, Japanese seem to want to prevent a problem beforehand, and to keep it away from themselves. While this may be good for certain things, it also results in them shunning things that are different from them, and “beating down the nails that stick out”.
Sometimes it’s not even about preventing problems, but to tighten the bond of the team that’s already been made by making one enemy. I can already see it at an early age through bullying in most public schools, where the whole class will work together to bully one kid. It keeps the classmates entertained and makes them great at teamwork, but at the same time it’s a society of fear where they try not to be the next bullied kid when the class gets tired of the already bullied kid.
Japan’s become this society of “reading the atmosphere” aka reading between lines, making people have to guess what the other thinks at the most absurd levels. A lot of mind games. Guessing and doubting. People aren’t straight to the point, and this allows a lot of terrible gossip of others, and creating allies through the same enemy.
I don’t want to talk bad about my country, my own people. and I know there are many many Japanese out there who are wonderful people. But sometimes, I hear or see terrible things from people that make me wonder how many more of these guys live here.
I know a lot of people outside of Japan are eager to visit Japan. And I am very happy for that, I really am! I want to show you all the awesome, interesting things we got here! But I just want you to know that Japan’s not always the perfect little country that many people imagine it to be.
But then again, I guess this goes for every country right?
Things not to say to me while I’m eating:
- That’s a lot of food
- That’s not enough food
- You’re going to eat all of that???!??
- That looks gross
- That’s not healthy
- That looks healthy
- That’s disgusting
- Why are you eating that?
- I’m glad you’re eating more
In case you didn’t understand, DON’T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT MY EATING/FOOD/INTAKE WHETHER IT BE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT.
